Default Titles for a reason

Were talking to some GW-friends on Vent yesterday when i came up with this idéa during the Hell's precipice mission.

What do you think about makeing the titles worth to collect, i mean for now its only for "looks" and for getting the renown title (Kind of a big deal, everyone know me et.c.).

Let's give the titles a bonus when used, just like Lightbringer rank, that dose 5% dmg reduce vs "demons" and 1% dmg vs "demons".

- Champion Title *Achived trough GvG*
No need to change, gives you a higer amount of collectable Baltazhar faction

- Gamer title *Achived trough Event PvP*
Whenever this title is on, the character gets 2% more Gold(Money)/per kill per rank.

- Gladiator title *Achived trough TA or RA*
Whenever this title is on, the character gets 2% more baltazhar faction/per kill per rank.

- Hero Title *Achived trough HA*
No need, got emotes

- (un)lucky *Achived trough Cantha Festival ticket games*
Depening on wich title you got (Unlucky/lucky), whenever this title is on the character gets a lower/higher merchant price for stuff. If you got the lucky title, you can sell a item worth 30 base, for 60. And if you got the unlucky activated, you sell that item for 15 instead of 30.

- Survivor *Achived trough not dying in game*
(Can't figure out something good on this one)

- Drunkard *Achived trough drinking *
Based on the rank of the title, the bearer can do an emote showing that he is drunk in town or something.

- Skill hunter *Achived trough capturing skills*
Whenever the character got the title activated he/she gains 2% more dmg on bosses depending on rank.

- Treasure Hunter *Achived trough opening chests*
The bearer of the title got 1% higher rate of finding a Gold (Not nessesarly a good one) in the next chest (Higer rank, higer %).

- Wisdom track hunter *Achived trough identifying Gold weps*
The bearer of the title got 1% higer rate of identifying a "good" gold weapon. (Higer rank, higer %)

- Maxed title *Achived trough maxing out titles
Rank based emotes (Like HA emotes, but different animations etcetera).

- Sweet Tooth *Achived trough eating sweet things in-game*
Run 10% faster in town depening on rank, (Rank 1 = 10, Rank 2= 15, Rank 3=20 etcetera.

- Defender of Ascalon *Achived by getting to level 20 in Pre-searing*
moves 2% faster intown and dose 10% more damage to all creatures in Tyria.

- Allegieance Rank *Achived trough playing Alliance battle*
Depening on rank, the bearer of the title gains 4% more faction per kill/win in Alliance Battle. (Rank 1=4%, Rank 2=6%, Rank 3=8%)

- Lightbringer Title *Achived trough getting Lightbringer points*
Get 5% lesser dmg taken, 1% more dmg (Already in game)

- Sunspear Title *Achived trough getting Sunspear points*
Make 1% more dmg/per rank on creatures in Elona.

- Commander title *Achived trough HvH battles*
Emotes similar to the HA once, other emotes ofc.

- Cartagrapher tyria/Cantha/elona *Achived trough exploring the game*
Whenever one of these titles is activated, the character moves 2% faster in town depening on wich title and rank is on.

Master cartagropher Tyria, moves 10% faster in Tyria towns etcetera

- Protector of Tyria/cantha/Elona
Make 4% more dmg against foce in the continent your in.

Protector of Tyria = Make 4% more dmg against foes in Tyria.

I like the idea for rewarding all title tracks...but your ideas for tracks such as Lucky and Unlucky I don't agree with. Who in their right mind would WANT to sell their unwanted items to the merchant for less? I think the bonuses you've expressed are a little over-the-top. Maybe if the rewards were a little less but still useful, I'd sign. Until then though, /notsigned

It would work but only for titles for new chapters that they are marketing because we would just have fun with the old chapters and that wouldn't give them as much money.

I'd like to see the titles effect PvE alot. As for PvP affects, they'd only go as far as faction storage/earnings

This would quickly become the new farmer title. Instead, I'd like to see this affect how much more XP you recieve from enemies. This would allow you to get more Skill Points and buy more skills. The affect would be void on boss XP, however.

I don't see how this is that bad, considering all faction does is unlock skills and items for PvP.

Hmmm. I don't see why anyone would go for (or even wear) the Unlucky title if this was the affect. Lemme think on this one for a while...

This should not have any visual effect to others in game, only to your character. While you have this title on, your screen displayes a random state of "drunkenness". This can be used just to make the game more difficult, or just to "wig-out" on the cool effects you've unlocked. Turning the title off/on switches the different effects. Having higher ranks gives you access to the "cooler" effects.

Should only effect bosses with "auras". End game (or Glint) bosses should be as tough as they still are.

Once again, this would become a farmer title. Keep it the way it is. 3% salvage rate increase with every rank.

When a gold item drops, it's stats are already determined. You can even see if a gold has a fortitude/hale mod on it by equipping it even if it hasn't been identified. Identifying an item just allows you to see what you're dealing with. Keep this title like it is already: 3% salvage rate increase with every rank. This, combined with Treasure Hunter, lowers the chance of you destroying an item to 8%.

There are only 2 ranks for this title. First title should make you run 25% faster. Second should be 50% faster (omni-choco-bunny-speed, I guess you could say). Only in towns and outposts, of course.

I honestly don't know what this title could be used for. Maybe your heroes show 1% more appreciation towards you for each rank? Who knows...

INCREASE RADAR SIZE WITH EACH RANK! Any percentage is good. I think Rangers should already have larger radars than the other proffessions (They are rangers, after all). It allows you to see what's comming up on your ass sooner, rather than later.

Hell. One title with +5% damage to PvE crap isn't so bad. Slaying Mods add +20% damage, so I don't see how one title with low damage increase could become a major farming title like the others.



All in all, some great ideas. I think the community should take these ideas and roll with them. Maybe ANet will sneak that shit.

Love the response Felix, diden't tought about the farming opportunities regarding the gold thingy. But yeah, i tought that these should be rolld back and forth with the community.
